Cremation with Integrity & Care Guarantee
What Makes Our Cremation Process Different

Understanding Our Cremation Integrity Standards
When you choose cremation, it's important to know how it works and what the standards of care are so you can feel at ease. We at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home have set very high standards for cremation integrity that go well beyond what is required by law. We are the only funeral home in Wellsboro that owns and runs its own crematory, so we are in charge of every part of the cremation process.
Our 12-point cremation integrity guarantee makes sure that the whole process is done with the highest levels of dignity, respect, and proper identification. We think that families should be able to see everything and trust how their loved ones are being cared for.
Our 12-Point Cremation Guarantee
1. Commitment to a Code of Ethics
While we take care of your loved one, our staff follows a strict Cremation Code of Ethics that guarantees the highest level of respect and dignity. For your peace of mind, a member of our staff will take your loved one to our crematory, watch the start of the cremation process, and then bring the cremated remains back to you.
2. Protecting Personal Identity
As soon as we receive your loved one, we put an identification band on them to protect their identity. Throughout the whole process, they will always have a stainless steel identification medallion with a unique number on it. Your loved one is washed, dressed, and made ready for private family identification.
3. Electronic Documentation
A fingerprint is recorded and stored in their permanent case file electronically. Families can request access to this fingerprint at any time for additional verification.
4. Private Family Identification
Before the cremation, we set aside time for family members to positively identify your loved one in a bed or container for cremation. Our staff takes the time to dress your loved one in clothes you gave them and put on some basic makeup. This is a good time to say goodbye.
5. Verification of Paperwork
A licensed funeral director and a CANA-certified technician check all the cremation paperwork to make sure that all the required permissions and authorizations have been received and properly recorded.
6. Our Own Crematory
We own and run our own crematory, which meets our high standards of care and strict rules for how it should be run. For some religions, it's normal to see the body put into the cremation chamber. We invite all families to look around our crematory and, if they want, watch the process.
7. Cremation Control Book and Process
Our crematory keeps a detailed book of cremation controls. When your loved one arrives, we write down name, ID number, date and time of cremation, and the name of the operator. Your loved one will always have a stainless steel medallion with a unique identification number on them.
8. After the Cremation
Once cremation is complete, the cremated remains and stainless steel identification medallion are processed and placed into your selected urn or container. An identification card is maintained in our crematory records.
9. Creating a Meaningful Tribute
We help plan meaningful memorial, funeral, or celebration of life services before or after the body is cremated. We have more options for cremation than other companies. For example, we can make custom DVD tribute videos and provide certified celebrants for personalized services.
10. Return of Cremated Remains
We set up a time for you to get the cremated remains in a calm, private place where you can think about things quietly. We also offer home delivery if you want it, and our services don't stop at the cemetery.
11. Our Promise
Our staff is kind and helpful, and our facilities are clean and comfortable. We help people fill out paperwork for veterans, insurance, and Social Security. We also offer free notary services to the families we serve.
12. Exclusive Written Guarantee
If there is any item of our professional services or facilities that you are not completely satisfied with, there is no charge for that item of service. We take the risk out of selecting a cremation provider.
