Phyllis will be dearly missed by many, My parents adored her as she was always there for them. Heaven is an even better place now that she has risen to an angel above,

Mom Hazelton has played such an important part in my life as an exchange student in Wellsboro back in 1969-1970. She and Dad were a very positive influence and I feel blessed I could have known both and their wonderful family: Dave (my buddy), LuAnn and Sissy.

May you rest in the Lord´s Peace and again thanks so much for being such a great mother, friend and counselor. You´ll be highly missed by all of us here in Brazil.

I had the privilege of living with the Hazeltons during my AFS year at Wellsboro Senior High back in 1969-70 and have always felt honored to be part of Mom & Dad Hazelton´s wonderful family.
I have the dearest memories of my days in Thumptown: a learning and interesting new experience to have a new brother (my buddy Dave) and two new sisters (LuAnn and Sis) added to the new community and school. This learning has accompanied me throughout my whole life and will certainly continue. I lack the proper words to express my gratitude to all of you, my dear American Family.

When Dad left us back in February 2009 I was deeply moved and sad with his departure. Having learned so much from Dad Hazelton I only realized how important his kindness, wisdom and sharp intelligence had been in my life much later on. And I had the opportunity to express this feeling to him personally in one of my many visits to Wellsboro in the past few years.

Mom was always an inspiration and so much help during my stay there: her beautiful voice and piano playing certainly had always impressed me particularly. And most of all our long heartfelt conversations on most everything and her profound faith in the Lord did leave a deep positive mark in me and has helped me be what I am today and certainly all this has contributed much towards my becoming a better person, husband, father and grandfather now.

For all this I would like to say a most sincere Thank You Mom. This is how much you´ll be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you. And very especially, I was so thrilled and thankful that my granddaughter Alice and her parents were blessed to be with you now in July/2017 at Sissy´s place.

Rest in peace!

Your Brazilian host son Paulo.

I haven't seen Phyllis since we graduated from WHS in 1951 because I moved from Wellsboro. She was one of my dearest friends in school & a sincerely beautiful young lady who easily blushed which only added to her beauty. I am not surprised to read of her love of her Lord & her serving Him. For now, the Bible tells us she sleeps until that grand resurrection day when the graves are opened & all those faithful servants will be called forth from their graves to meet with the Lord in the sky.
I extend deepest sympathy to all her family. May God give you a deep sense of peace knowing that whatever trials Phyllis had are over. Look forward to the joys she'll know in Heaven & don't be afraid or ashamed to laugh or cry at the memories you have. God & His only begotten Son, Jesus know what life & death & the resurrection is all about. Take comfort in that knowledge. May God be with you all.
