Leroy Eugene Zettel

Roy entered into his heavenly home on Saturday morning, August 27, 2016. He was born December 15, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, the only child of Eugene and Pauline (Deininger) Zettel. Roy graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia with the Class of 1949.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.  Roy attended Drexel University and worked as an architectural draftsman.

Roy moved to Tioga County in 1976. He became very active in the Wellsboro Fireman’s Assn., and Wellsboro Ambulance Assn, being a life member in both.  In addition, he volunteered as a paramedic assistant in the ALS office at SSMH for 19 years.

Roy loved to fish and hunt and had many fishing buddies, young and old.  He attended the Holliday CMA Church and enjoyed fishing with Pastor Erik.

He is survived by his wife Shirley at home; daughter, Laura; son, Steve; and their families, all of Idaho; stepchildren, Julie, Dan, Kim, Sue and Lynn and their families; also, a very special couple, Jeffrey and Barbara Wiseman and their 3 sons. One being his godson, Tyler.

Friends and family are invited to Roy’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Holliday Christian Missionary Alliance Church, from 11 AM-12PM. Service to follow at 12 noon, with Pastor Erik Ferguson officiating.
