I want to thank everyone for your kind words and support. Your not suppose to bury your children, but I guess God had other plans for her. It has been a hard road to travel without her. Has changed my world. I will always miss her. I love her dearly and can't wait to be with her again. Again Thanx to everyone.

So sorry for your loss Ken and Penny. I still think of Misty as the little girl of 9 playing with our son when he was 2. She was so good with him. I know she was a wonderful mother to her children. Praying for you and the children.

Wow... In high school, I was friends with Misty. We weren't super close, but we were always friendly and shared some classes together. During a particularly difficult time for me back then, Misty could tell something was wrong one day and offered to hear what I had to say. I unloaded and told her I had been self-harming and I was very suicidal considering the situations I was dealing with at home. Misty listened to every word and then talked to me about how things always get better, dark times pass, and that she knew I had the strength to make it through. It was a very emotional conversation. The next day at school, Misty handed me a box. She had gotten me a new shirt, a candle, and a beautiful bookmark with a silver fairy on it. She reminded me that there will always be someone that cares about me.

I moved away, Misty and I lost touch, and I still faced plenty of hardships through my later teens and early adulthood. I did move back to the area but I never really saw Misty around anywhere, like most friends you once had in high school.

Last week, I had to stop at Sheetz in a hurry. I went in, grabbed what I needed and was rushing to the line to check out. I passed a girl who said, "Oh, hey Jill."

It was Misty. My mind was elsewhere and I was trying to be on my way as quickly as possible so I just blurted out, "Hey" and smiled...

Once I got home, I remembered the story I just typed out here... And now I see this.

I should have stopped. I should have taken the time to catch up with her. And I should have thanked her again for that heartfelt conversation in high school.

Misty, you were a gem among stones. This world will be lacking without you. I'm very sorry to see you go so soon, but know that you meant so much to so many people.
