Frances A. Johnson, 88, of Wellsboro, passed away early Tuesday January 19, 2021 at The Green Home. She was born December 1, 1932 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Fred and Florence (Hall) Starkweather.
Frances worked for Tioga County in the janitorial staff, and after retiring she cleaned homes in the Wellsboro area, including housekeeping for Judge Kemp while he was in Florida.
Frances was a member of the Moose and the Wellsboro Social Club. She enjoyed horseshoes and earlier in life, playing softball.
Frances is survived by a son, Hal (Mary) Johnson of Wellsboro; two daughters, Dianne (Jim Reilly) Focht of Wellsboro; and Cindy (Morgan) Snyder of Louisiana; a brother, Walter (Debbie) Starkweather of Wellsboro; a sister, Martha Spencer of Wellsboro; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
There will be a private burial in West Branch Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
