Vivian L. Urban

Vivian L. (Root) Urban, 98, of Liberty, died on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.

Vivian was born January 26, 1923, in Morris, the daughter of the late Bruce and Daisy (Thompson) Root. She was married to Karl Urban on July 13, 1940 and celebrated 59 years of marriage until his death on July 28, 1999.

Vivian owned and operated the Urban General Store in Morris with her husband for over 27 years.  She was a member of the Morris United Methodist Church and the Morris 55+ Club.  She loved maintaining her property, planting and growing beautiful flowers and keeping up with the lawn.  She also loved her family and took special pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Vivian is survived by a son, Gary (Linda) Urban of Canton; grandchildren, Tim (Stacey) Urban, Toni (Chuck Bailey) Urban, Steve Steger and Shelby (Tim) Kinsey and great grandchildren, Joelle, Reed, and Piper Vivian Urban, Nick Bailey, and Katy and Nathan Kinsey.   

In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Collins, brothers, Harold, Clifford and James Root, and sisters, Dorothy Root, Wanda Marvin, Nellie Dominiski, and Madelyn Wilcox.

There will be a private burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Morris, at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions in Vivian’s name be made to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 75 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Morris, PA 16938.
