Theodore L. Young

Theodore L. Young Jr., 90, of Wellsboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 21, 2022.  He was born on October 16, 1931 in Wellsville, NY, the son of the late Mildred (Heysham) and Theodore L. Young Sr.  Ted married the former Joanne M. Parsons on November 2, 1957 and would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. 

Ted graduated from Wellsville High School, Class of 1949.  He was a State Farm Agent in Wellsboro for 35 years.  Ted was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wellsboro, and a trustee and treasurer.  He was also a member of the Tyoga Country Club, Wellsboro.  He was an avid golfer, bowler, and hunter.  He loved all sports especially watching his grandchildren play.

In addition to his wife, Joanne, Ted is survived by sons, David (Kathy) Young of Drexel, MO; Larry Young of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Chris (Barry) Young of Covington; Kelly Cornell of Monroeville; sister, Sandra Seaman of Pasadena, TX; and 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren that he adored. In addition to his parents Ted was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Herron, a brother, George Young, and a son-in-law, James Cornell.

Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Ted’s life from 5:00-7:00pm Monday September 26, 2022 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro. There will be no services.  The family suggest donations be made to:  The Shared Home, 27 Bacon St., Wellsboro, PA 16901.
