Robert Johnson Obituary

Robert L. Johnson, 89, of Pittsfield, formerly of Wellsboro, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Warren General Hospital, Warren.

Robert was born September 14, 1932, in Blossburg, the son of the late Dewey and Florence (Schimpf) Johnson.  He was the husband of Ruth (Applebee) Johnson who proceeded him in death on May 12, 2009.

Robert was a retired farmer and a member of the Northeast Dairy Co-Op Milk Plant, Middlebury Center.  He also retired from the former Nedco.  

Robert is survived by two sons, Ricky Johnson of Covington; and Louis Johnson of Middlebury Center; a daughter, Julie Gaylord of Mansfield; a brother, Frederick Johnson of Frostproof, FL; five sisters, Louisa Spotts of Texas; Ruth Goodreau of Howard; Dorothy (George) Fethers of Williamsport; Beverly Johnson of Pittsfield; and Dianne Focht of Wellsboro; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Johnson.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held at Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Mansfield.
