Nancy J. Bowser

Nancy J. (Morningstar) Bowser, 89, of Wellsboro, formerly of York, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at The Green Home, Wellsboro. 

Nancy was born on December 16, 1932, in York, PA, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Myers) Morningstar.  She married Dr. Michael W. Bowser on September 11, 1959 and celebrated 61 years of marriage until his passing on December 13, 2020.

Nancy was a Surgical Assistant at the York Oral Surgery Center which was founded by her husband.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wellsboro and was very active with the Hamilton-Gibson Theatre, Wellsboro.  She loved music and enjoyed singing, playing the piano and organ.  She also loved animals and had many family dogs, and traveling and RVing with her husband. 

Nancy is survived by sons, Michael (Dawn) Bowser, Jr., David (Billie) Bowser, a daughter, Cynthia (Wayne) Bacon all of Wellsboro and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Along with her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lea Bowser and three brothers. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation Saturday May 7, 2022 from 10-11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Main St., Wellsboro. A celebration of both Nancy and Dr. Michael Bowser’s life will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Birbeck, officiating, followed by a luncheon.  A private burial will be in Mt.
