LeRoy William Kennedy, 84, of Middlebury Center, passed away Friday November 5, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport. He was born May 25, 1937 at home in Wellsboro to Elias Grant and Elizabeth Nancy (Wilson) Kennedy. He grew up and went to school in Wellsboro, and graduated from Wellsboro High School in the class of 1957. On November 15, 1963 he married Sandra May White, and they spent nearly 58 years together. He worked as a type-setter for the Wellsboro Agitator (before it became the Wellsboro Gazette), then for more than 30 years for Dresser, and finished his working years working at Borden's in Wellsboro. LeRoy attended the Ansonia and Mt. Zion Full Gospel churches, and enjoyed the outdoors, he loved to garden and plant trees, was an avid fisherman - especially for trout - and loved going for walks. Additionally, he was a gifted guitarist and played locally with Jimmy Mosso and Johnny Putnam.
LeRoy is survived by his wife: Sandra of Middlebury Center; three sons: LeRoy Kennedy (LuAnne) of Middlebury Center, Aaron Kennedy (Dora) of Hackensack, NJ, and Nathan Kennedy (Jessie) of Pittsburgh; two daughters: Candice Zello of Fishers, IN, and Kimberly Jayne (Kenneth) of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother: Richard Kennedy (Geri) of Wellsboro and a sister: Jean Ingerick of Wellsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law: James and Hazel White, a son-in-law: Gary Zello, two brothers: Calvin and Wilbur Kennedy, and a sister: Ruth Wilkins.
Friends and family are invited to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro to pay tribute to LeRoy's life from 1-2pm on Sunday November 14, 2021 with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home at 2pm.
