Jean W. (Rose) Kriner, 84, of Big Flats, NY passed away early Sunday March 20, 2022 at Guthrie Hospital in Corning, NY. She was born December 23, 1937 in Corning, NY to LaVerne and Frances (Allen) Rose. She graduated from Corning Free Academy, and on June 2, 1956, married Donald Kriner, Sr. She worked for several optometrists fitting frames and grinding lenses for them. Jean attended Catholic churches where she lived, and enjoyed reading, puzzles, bingo, bowling and cross-stitch.
Jean is survived by two sons: Donald Kriner, Jr. (Kathleen) of Lawrenceville, and William Kriner (Colleen) of Tioga; three daughters: Kathleen Lilley (Gregg) of Pine City, NY, Beth Borden (Perry) of Corning, NY, and Kelly Miller (Chris) of Millerton, PA; 9 grandchildren: Steven Piecuch (Kelli), Brad Piecuch (Katy), Joseph Evans (Lancy), William Kriner, Jr., Julianne Snyder (Josh), Breanne Newcomb (Jason), David Haslund, Jr., Allison Haslund, and Katie Kennedy (Derrike); 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Madeline Walker of Painted Post, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter: Kimberly Kriner, two brothers: LaVerne and Harold Rose, and a sister: Mae Cross.
In accordance with her wishes, her family has entrusted the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA with her arrangements and there will be a private graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Tioga, PA.
