James O. Confer

James O. Confer, Sr., 87, of Wellsboro, passed away Thursday November 25, 2021 at UPMS Soldiers and Sailors in Wellsboro. He was born December 31, 1933 to John and Eva (Schoonover) Confer in Wellsboro and was one of seven children. He grew up and graduated from Gaines High School. James worked as a maintenance foreman at Corning Glass. He was a very capable man who could do whatever he set his mind to. He loved his farm and working on the associated machinery, was very supportive of the family business, always involved, kept everyone working and was the fix-it-man. He enjoyed fishing, hunted in his younger days and was an accomplished wood-worker.

James is survived by his two sons: James Confer, Jr. (Brenda) of Sanborn, NY, and Bradlee Confer (Kathi) of Tioga; 4 grandchildren: Brandyn, Jordyn, Daltyn and Bryar Confer; and one great-granddaughter: Madilyn Confer.  He is also survived by his longtime companion, Ann Johnson of Elmira, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
