Gregory Scott “Dink” Day, 61, of Wellsboro, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at UPMC Wellsboro.
Greg was born on August 8, 1958 in Wellsboro the son of the late Thomas and Charlene (Wilkinson) Day.
Greg graduated from Wellsboro High School and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving as a Hull Technician and a Deep-Sea Diver First Class. He had various occupations though out his life including positions at; Ward Foundary, Blossburg, Truck-Lite Co., Wellsboro and Pandrol Jackson Railroad.
Greg is survived by a son; Matthew Thomas Day, an aunt, who was like a second mother to him, Diana Buck, a brother, Michael (Laurie) Buck, a sister, Melinda “Mindy”(Scott) Saunders all of Wellsboro; a sister-in-law, Lucia “Re” Buck, nephew, Christopher Buck, niece, Alissa (Caleb) Miller, and his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Debbie Day.
In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Buck and his uncle, Kenneth “Bucky” Buck.
A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held at 11am Saturday August 1, 2020 in the Seven Acres Campground pavillion near the intersection of Spillway and Lake Roads by Hills Creek State Park. Pastor Kristy Webster will officiate, and a light luncheon will be held following the service.
Family suggest memorial contributions in Greg’s name be made to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 725 Gee Road, Tioga, PA 16946 or Niles Valley United Methodist Church, 10991 Route 287. Wellsboro, PA 16901.
