Frederick L. Suhr, 82, of Palmetto FL, formerly of Wellsboro, PA passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born February 10, 1939 in Blossburg, he was the son of Jesse W. and Julia C. (Gross) Suhr. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Wilson) with whom he shared more than 63 years of marriage.
Fred was employed by Ingersol Rand Corporation, then retired from the Wellsboro Electric Company after nearly 40 years of service. He was a member of Ossea Lodge F. & A.M. 317 in Wellsboro, the Coudersport Consistory, Sahib Temple of Sarasota, FL., and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Piney Point Square Club for over 10 years. Fred was a Lifetime Member of the Nessmuk Rod & Gun Club, the NRA, and the Tioga County Historical Society. He was also a former member of the Tioga County Country Club and the Hamilton Club in Morris Run.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Lois of Palmetto, FL; his only daughter and son-in-law, Connie L. (Suhr) and Anthony Boiano of Indiana, PA; grandson, Michael Boiano and wife, Sarah along with great-grandchildren, Anthony and Mia also of Indiana, PA; and a sister, Sylvia (Suhr) Daugherty of Palmetto, FL. He is also survived by step-granddaughter, Antonette (Kerry) Jones and family; and the family of Christine and Thomas Baczynski all of Tarentum, PA.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Stephen and Thomas (Dawn) Daugherty: Diane and David (Kristie) Suhr; Lori (Douglas) Smith and Joseph (Julie) Wilson; and Cynthia Boyce in addition to several cousins. He is also survived by a special niece, Abigail Gause of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Gordon Daugherty, James Wilson; John Wilson; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Wilson) Tarszowicz and Nancy Wilson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Tussey Mosher Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in Wellsboro, PA at a later time at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fred’s name to the Ossea Lodge F. & A.M. 317 or the First Presbyterian Church in Wellsboro.
