Elwyn "Butch" Toby, 78, of Wellsboro, passed away Thursday December 23, 2021 in his home. He was born February 9, 1943, in Corning, NY to Lawrence C. and Elaine K. (Kittel) Toby. On September 2, 1972, he married Carmen E. Dewey. Butch worked at Ron Baltzley Hardwoods in Covington as a Planer Operator. He was a member of the Whitneyville United Methodist Church. Butch was an avid and accomplished golfer, he was a member of the Corey Creek Golf Club, and was a three times Senior Club Champion.
Butch is survived by his wife: Carmen Toby of Wellsboro; two brothers: Richard Toby (Florence) of Leland, NC, and Blaine Toby (Renee') of Lindley, NY; a sister: Barbara Henry of Nelson, PA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law: Lynn Henry.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Butch's life from 1-2pm Thursday December 30, 2021 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA. A funeral will follow in the funeral home at 2pm with pastor Ed Siddle officiating.
