Dorothy (Burrous) Cleveland, 86, of Wellsboro, passed away in her home surrounded by family Saturday December 12, 2020. Born August 4, 1934 in Galeton, PA to Carl and Edna (Zeaman) Burrous, Dorothy, was the first woman hired by Dresser of Wellsboro. On June 2, 1979 she married Dale T. Cleveland, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. She was a Pentacostal, and a member of the Wellsboro Moose. Dorothy enjoyed reading, camping, cleaning and loved dogs, especially Boston Terriers and Siberian Huskeys.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Dale Cleveland of Wellsboro; two sons: Thomas Dale Cleveland (Beverly) of Wellsboro, and Kevin Eugene Cleveland of Wellsboro; a daughter: Tammy Hill (George) of Wellsboro; 8 grandchildren: Michael Tubbs, Christie Tubbs, Drew Niles, Justin Cleveland (Andrea), Heidi Stephen (John), Catherine Cleveland, Stormy McKenna, and Eddie McKenna; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Carl Burrous (Doris) of Potterbrook, and Harry Burrous (Patricia) of Westfield; and a sister: Carole Ann Simmons (Floyd) of Horseheads, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Otto Burrous; and 4 sisters: Irma Dibble, Doris Schoener, Julia Butler and Yvonne Keeney.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service 1pm Friday December 18, 2020 at Tioga County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Darwin “Tink” Cranmer officiating.
