Christopher J. Williammee, 49, of Lawrenceville, passed away Sunday December 12, 2021 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born July 11, 1972 in Wellsboro, the son of James Arthur and Susan (Baker) Williammee. Chris graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1990 and enlisted in the US Coast Guard in September. In 1993 he was appointed to the Coast Guard Academy, and in July of 1999 graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Ensign. He earned numerous awards and accommodations during his 28 years of service. On October 1, 2018 Chris retired as a Commander. On August 6, 1999 he married Tamara Friede with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. Christopher was a beekeeper, an avid hunter, and enjoyed working on his farm especially raising his ducks and chickens. Chris's life was focused on service, his career of service to his country and community. After retirement he served with local food pantries, was a certified EMT with the Lawrenceville Ambulance, and was deeply committed to the Laurel Mountain Search and Rescue, serving as a training coordinator in charge of all mapping and navigational training.
He is survived by his wife Tamara Williammee of Lawrenceville, a son: Scott Williammee (Stephanie Clevenstine) of Alum Bank, PA, a step-son: James Travis Culp (Jennie) of Huntsville, AL, his mother: Susan Miller (John) of Wellsboro, his father: James Arthur Williammee of Wellsboro, 2 grandchildren: Maisie and Dorian, a sister: Stefanie Young of Wellsboro, a step-brother: John Michael Miller II (Alice) of Wasilla, AK, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill and Joanne Baker and Art and Virginia Williammee.
His family has entrusted the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA with his arrangements. Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Chris's life from 7-9pm Friday December 17, 2021 at the funeral home.
