Carol Jean Redell, 57, of Wellsboro, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
Carol was born February 14, 1964, in Hornell, NY, the daughter of the late Donald K. and Blanche M. (Amidon) Sawyer. She married Russell E. Redell, Jr. on May 13, 1989 and celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Carol most recently worked for Miracle Ear and previously worked as a Teacher’s Aid for the Wellsboro Are School District and as a Nurses Aid for the Green Home, Wellsboro. She also worked as a bartender for both the Wellsboro V.F.W and Wellsboro Moose. She was a former member of the Wellsboro V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose and the Arnot Sportsmen’s Club. Carol was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and was proud of her flower beds.
In addition to her husband Russ, Carol is survived by a son, Zachery (Kay) Redell of Troy; a daughter, Bianca (Patrick) Parsons of Blossburg; grandchildren, Kamden and Ashlynn Barrett-Redell and Saylah and Jayna Parsons, brothers, Donald (Dawn) Sawyer of Chesnee, SC; David (Janine) Sawyer of Wellsboro; sisters, Penny (Larry) Kahle of Eldred; Donna (John) Stevens of Ogdensburg; Bonnie (Dave) Wright of Wellsboro; JoAnn Sawyer Osgood of Wellsboro; mother-in-law, Sandra Redell of Wellsboro; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, David & Becky Redell and Scott & Pam Boyce and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Walter K. Sawyer and her father-in-law, Russell E. Redell.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects, Wednesday August 25, 2021 from 3-5pm at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro, with a memorial service to follow at 5pm, with Rev. Kenneth Marple officiating.
