Bernard Copp Obituary

Bernard C. Copp, 90, of Wellsboro, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at UPMC Wellsboro.


Bernard was born March 29, 1930, in Wellsboro, the son of the late Fay and Emma (Knaus) Copp.  He married the former Margaret Abplanalp on August 15, 1952 and celebrated 59 years of marriage until her passing on January 9, 2012.

 

Bernard retired from Corning Glass as a Glass Mechanic.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Wellsboro, the Wellsboro Moose, Wellsboro Social Club, and the Arnot Sportsmen’s Club. Bernard was also an avid Euchre player.

 

Bernard is survived by sons, Gary (Nancy) Copp of Wellsboro; Larry (Kate) Copp of Vero Beach, FL; a daughter, Sheila Mosher of Waterloo, NY; a brother-in-law Ray “Fritz” Abplanalp of Wellsboro; grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsey, and Taylor, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to his parents and wife, Bernard was preceded in death by a son, Roger Copp, a sister, Bernice Abplanalp, and two brothers, Duke and Wallace Copp. 

 

Due to COVID- 19 restrictions, the services will be private.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions in Bernard’s name be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 53 West Ave., Wellsboro, PA 16901.
