Ardell Young Obituary

Ardell D. (Doane Berg) Young, 82, of Wellsboro, passed away Wednesday January 27, 2021 at UPMC Soldiers and Sailors in Wellsboro. She was born March 4, 1938 in Delmar Township to J. Everett and Mary E. (Lyon) Doane, and graduated from Wellsboro High School in the class of 1957. While she had worked at the Penn Wells, Kentch’s Drug Store, the Arcadia Theater and Dunham’s, Ardell was primarily a homemaker. She had been a member of the Wellsboro Women of the Moose.

Ardell is survived by her son: Donald Duane (Deborah) Berg of Newberg, OR; a daughter: Donna Rae (Marc) Siegfried of Rainier, WA; two step-sons: James (Debbie) Young and William Young; a step-daughter: Marian (Chris) Carlton; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Cathy Doane and Dorothy Doane, both of Wellsboro; and a sister: Mary Ellen (Charles) Boudreau of Pinellas Park, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: William M. Young and Duane Berg; a son: Gene Berg; two brothers: Francis and James Doane; and a sister: Catherine Doane.

Due to social and travel restrictions, there will be no public services. In keeping with Ardell’s wishes her arrangements have been entrusted to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA, and she will be interred in the West Branch Cemetery.
