Wyland Paul Housel

Wyland P. Housel, 79, of Wellsboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Broad Acres. He was the husband of Betty M. (Losinger) Housel, who preceded him in death in 2007. Wyland was born October 1, 1936, in Wellsboro, the son of the late Claude Rollins and Ina Elizabeth (Klouse) Housel.
In his lifetime he was a line foreman at Commonwealth Telephone Co. for 32 years, earlier in life he worked for Dresser-Rand and also strung line for the cable TV company.
Wyland was a member of the Wellsboro Moose Lodge 1147, Arnot Sportsman’s Club, VFW in Wellsboro, and the American Legion in Blossburg.
Surviving are his sons, Paul L. (Jackie) Housel, Colorado Springs, CO and Kirby G. (Lura)Housel, Wellsboro; daughter, Nancy (Rusty) Sandstrom, Arnot; grandchildren, Chad (Jessica) Sandstrom, Jason (Renee) Sandstrom, Zachery (Mikayla)Housel and Samantha Housel; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Sandstrom and Jacob Sandstrom; sister, Mary Decker, Wellsboro, and his special friend, Sharon Knapp.
In keeping with Wyland’s wishes, there will be no services and his family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
