Thomas David Jones

Thomas D. Jones, 73, of Liberty, passed away Tuesday January 28, 2025, at Bradford Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy.  He was born October 12, 1951, in Williamsport, PA to Thomas William and Evelyn Louise (Mase) Jones.  He earned his bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg University, and served as a probation officer in Tioga County.  On August 3, 1991, Tom married Deborah Wesner, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.   He was a member of the Liberty Lutheran Church, Liberty VFW Post 6755, American Legion, Arnot Sportsman’s Club, Hillside Rod and Gun Club, and the Mountain Run Hunting Club.  He was a fan of Penn State sports, and enjoyed getting together with family at the family cabin.  Tom enjoyed sports and was very involved in supporting sports in his community.  He coached Litle League in Liberty, and helped organize the Briar Hill Golf Benefit to support the Liberty Little League, and he refereed high school and junior high basketball as well as watching basketball on TV and following the Yankees of MLB and the Giants of NFL.  Tom also enjoyed hunting and golfing. He is survived by his wife:  Deborah Jones of Liberty; a brother:  Mick Jones (Mary) of Trout Run; a sister:  Deanna Knecht (Roger) of Liberty; a brother-in-law:  David Wesner (Renee) of Winchester, VA; nephews:  Roger Knecht, Jr. of Liberty, Michael Jones and Matthew Jones; two nieces:  Heather Rice (Mike) of Liberty, and Dr. Amber Wesner of Winchester, VA; great-nieces:  Eva Rice of Liberty, and Emery Wesner of Winchester, VA; great-nephew:  Gunnar Rice; cousins:  Bobby Wheeland and Tracy Gregory; very dear and close friend:  Dawn Pletcher; and friends that were such help:  Bobby and Tammy Hopkins, and John and Diane Eaton.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
