Shirley Redell

Shirley Evelyn (Learn) Redell, 79, of Wellsboro, passed away Sunday September 24, 2023, in Savage, MD after battling cancer. She was born September 1, 1944, in Wellsboro, to Richard and Mary (Adamy) Learn. She graduated from Wellsboro High School and on February 20, 1965, married Ronald R. Redell with whom she shared 58 years of marriage, and raised three children. Shirley worked as a switchboard operator for Commonwealth Telephone Company and later in the front office. Shirley worked at Kench's and the Wellsboro Gazette, but what she was most proud of, was being a homemaker. Shirley attended the Charleston Baptist Church, enjoyed studying her Bible, crocheting and was an excellent baker. She is survived by her husband; a son: Ronald R. (Lisa) Redell, Jr. of Macedonia; two daughters: Jennifer (Craig) Phillips of Savage, MD, and Brenda (Patrick) Kelly of Chester Springs, PA; 8 grandchildren; two brothers: Marc (Sandy) Learn of Penn Yan, NY, and Terry (Rose) Learn of Elkland; and five sisters: Barbara Conkright of Wellsboro, Joanne Fidler of Wellsboro, Sandy Redell of Wellsboro, Geraldine Lewis of Wellsboro, and Cathy (Robert) Maynard of Myrtle Beach, SC. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Durwood Learn, and two sisters: Elizabeth Berguson and Sara Huck. Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Shirley's life from 10:00am to 11:00am Friday September 29, 2023 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA with a funeral to follow at 11:00am in the funeral home.
