Ruth L. Dinnison

Ruth L. Dinnison, 98, of Wellsboro passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the home of her daughter Lianne.

Ruth was the wife of the late Hugh Dinnison, her husband of 64 years. They were married on October 18, 1947. Her passing was on what would have been their 78th anniversary.

Ruth was born on April 6, 1927, in Hawthorne, New Jersey to the late Alfred and Mildred (Goodwin) Hazelton.

Raised in Middlebury Center and Wellsboro, she graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1945. Following graduation, she worked at Corning Glass.

Ruth and Hugh made their home in Cleona, Pennsylvania before moving to Plum Borough, near Pittsburgh for 40 years, eventually returning to Wellsboro in 2007.

Ruth was a homemaker raising four children and later in life worked in retail sales. She enjoyed reading, baking and crocheting.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by a daughter Linda, a brother James Meadows, and her stepfather, Tom Meadows.

Ruth is survived by a sister, Betty Niles of Wellsboro, sister-in-law Joan Meadows of Hornell, New York; her daughter Lianne (Arnie) Kriner of Liberty, Kathy George of Liberty Township, Ohio, and David Dinnison (Amy) of Nathalie Virginia, five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a member of the Wellsboro United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church, 36 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901, or UPMC Family Hospice, 32-36 Central Avenue, Wellsboro.
