Raymond Lynn Plumley, 84, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro Pa.

He was born on August 30, 1941, to the late Wayne and Elise (Thilo) Plumley and was a brother to his siblings Phillip Plumley and Maxine Hartwigsen. He was a lifelong resident of the Wellsboro area.

On June 13, 1987, Ray married Kathleen (Claxton) Plumley, creating a loving blended family including Todd (Sandy) Plumley of Galeton Pa, Jason (Katie) Plumley of Orlando Fl, and Lisa (Patrick) Dunkleberger of Mount Airy Md. Ray was incredibly proud of his family and loved them all, including his grandchildren, Grayson Plumley, Rory Dunkleberger and Sydney Dunkleberger.

Ray was a graduate of Wellsboro High School Class of 1959, served in the Army National Guard of PA 911th Medical Company, and worked at Corning Glass Works/GTE/Osram Sylvania, Wellsboro Plant for almost 40 years before retiring in 1999.

Ray was a member of Nessmuk Rod & Gun Club in Wellsboro and Hillside Rod & Gun Club in Blossburg. An avid outdoorsman, Ray enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends, fishing in Ontario Canada, hiking, hunting and trap shooting. In his later years he spent much of his outdoor time sitting on the front porch chatting with visitors and watching the birds. Over the last few months, he developed a special bond with his hospital care team, with whom we are forever grateful.

At Ray’s request, there will be no visitation or services. His family has entrusted his arrangements to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro. To share a memory or condolence with her family, visit www.tusseymosher.com.
