Ralph E. Rice

Ralph E. "Tub" Rice, Jr., 78, of Morris, passed away Sunday September 14, 2025 in his home, surrounded by family. He was born August 12, 1947, in Wellsboro, to Ralph E. and Margaret "Peggy" (Cooney) Rice. Ralph graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1965, and served in the Army National Guard. On August 19, 1967, he married Susan M. Briggs with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Ralph was a hard worker, in addition to a career as a Union Carpenter, he worked as a Notary Public, a PA Inspection Mechanic, and as a mechanic at WECo. Tub enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, motorcycles, and camping, but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. Ralph is survived by his wife: Susan Rice of Morris; a son: Michael (Heather) Rice; a daughter: Michelle "Missy" (Henry) Rice Brooks; four grandchildren: Gunnar Rice, Eva Rice, Daniel Brooks, and Jessica Brooks; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leo (Cynthia) Rice, Art (Adrienne Hampson) Rice, Jeff (Connie) Rice, Linda (Briggs) Erb, and Lisa Rice; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Ralph E. Rice, Sr., his mother Margaret "Peggy" Cooney Allen, his brother: Jerry Rice, and his step-father: Michael Allen. Tub's family has entrusted his arrangements to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA 16901. They will arrange a celebration of his life at a later date.
