Peggy A. Butters

Peggy (Bohnert) Butters, 92, of Morris, passed away on December 24, 2024, with her family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Butters, who passed away in 2012. They shared 58 years of marriage together. Peggy was born September 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Franklin Bohnert and Margaret Taylor Bohnert, and later after her mother’s passing, her stepmother Dorotha Bohnert. Peggy graduated from Liberty High School and was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Peggy assisted her husband Raymond on the farm and was a long-standing and active member of the church. She loved being with her family and friends, and keeping busy attending church, farming, milking cows, cooking, canning, baking cookies, and gardening.

She is survived by her four sons, David Butters (Sherri) of Morris, Gary Butters (Joanne) of Mansfield, Terry Butters (Pat) of Morris, Glen Butters (Marilyn) of Troy; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren, one step great-great-grandchild; and her brothers Joe Bohnert (Irene), Lyle Bohnert, Duane Bohnert (Pearl), and sister Barbara Friese, in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to Peggy's Life Celebration on Monday, December 30 at the Nauvoo Christian Fellowship, 46 Linck Road Morris, PA 16938, with a visitation from 10 – 11, followed by a funeral service. Burial will be in the Salem-St. Paul Cemetery, also known as Hartfield Cemetery. Peggy’s Family has entrusted the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home with her arrangements.
