Paula Jean Nobles

Paula Jean Nobles, 76, of Wellsboro, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at her home. Paula was born October 12, 1949, in Montour Falls, NY. She was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Dorothy A. (McLaughlin) Cornell. Paula married Daryl E. Nobles on June 25, 1976, and they celebrated 50 years together.

Paula graduated from Wellsboro High School, Class of 1967. She worked for over 43 years at Acme, BI-LO, and Tops Friendly Markets, Wellsboro, as an office clerk and head cashier. Paula enjoyed reading, Sudoku, going on cruises, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Daryl, Paula is survived by a daughter, Lindsey (Dustin) Butler of Knoxville; a sister, Linda Reese of Wellsboro; grandchildren: Sophie, Eva, Gabe, Dawson, Milas, and Samuel; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.

As per Paula’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959, Concern Foster Care Services, 62 Plaza Ln., Wellsboro, PA 16901, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
