Millard D. “Bud” Smith, 92 of Wellsboro, passed away Saturday December 10, 2016 at the Green Home. He was born March 4, 1924 in Wellsboro the son of Jesse E. and Nora (Wetherbee) Smith. Bud was married to Mary E. (Townsend) Smith. During WW II he served in the US Army Air corps, and was stationed in Europe with the 8 th Airforce.
As well as being an avid golfer, Millard was a talented carpenter. He built several houses in the Wellsboro area. Bud will be sadly missed for his great sense of humor, and seeing him on the streets of Wellsboro in his red buggy.
Mr. Smith is survived by one sister, Dorothy Smith of Quincy, Washington who is 100 years old, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers: Stillman, Walter, and Jack Smith; and 2 sisters: Lucille Telep and Ruth Smith.
Bud’s family has entrusted the Tussey Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA 16901, with his arrangements, and according to his wishes will have a private service at the convenience of his family, and be interred next to his wife in Wellsboro Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
