Melvin Weldon Butler

Melvin Weldon Butler, 88, of Wellsboro, passed away Friday May 23, 2025, at Bradford Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Troy, PA.  He was born June 9, 1936, in Wellsboro to Weldon and Pauline (Lee) Butler.  He worked at Corning Glass until his retirement and enjoyed hunting with his sons and brother.  Melvin was an avid Red Sox fan and a member of the Wellsboro Moose Club.

He is survived by two sons:  Douglas Butler (Lynn Michaud) of Farmington, NH, and Melvin Scott Butler of Epping, NH; a daughter:  Rhonda Spaulding (Michael) of College Station, TX; nine grandchildren:  Douglas Butler, Jr., Layla Butler, Ashley Gilpatrick, Aaron James Butler, Jordan Butler, Melissa Cherry, Laura Boerner, Derek Spaulding, and Sabrina Piel; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother:  Jordan (Jim) Butler; and a sister:  Gloria Repard.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter:  Sharilyn June Goodreau, a granddaughter:  Kayla Michel Spaulding, and two brothers:  Weldon and Dennis Butler.
