Mary Louise Henneman

Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Henneman, 91, of Wellsboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at The Green Home in Wellsboro. She was born on March 9, 1935, in Otto, New York, a daughter of the late Ernest J. and Mable C. (Gildner) Grube. On December 1, 1956, she married Robert W. Henneman, and together they raised three sons. Mary Lou worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and, after her husband took a job in Wellsboro, worked for Tayton Trucking, before leaving the workforce to devote herself to raising her family. After her children were older, she returned to work with the Tioga County Sheriff's Department, where she served for many years. A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wellsboro, Mary Lou was part of the congregation during the construction of its current facility and served faithfully with the Ladies' Guild.

Mary Lou is survived by two sons, John R. Henneman and his wife, Debbie, of Cable, Ohio, and Steven J. Henneman and his wife, Patti, of Wellsboro; a daughter-in-law, Julie Henneman, of Bradford; three granddaughters, Erin, Meghan, and Gretchen; and two step-granddaughters, Alexandria and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert W. Henneman; her son, Martin K. Henneman; her sister, Alice Stoltenberg; and her brother, William Grube.

Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Mary Lou's life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, Pennsylvania 16901. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Welsh Settlement Cemetery.
