Martha K. (Kocourek) Blackwell

Martha K. Blackwell, 81, of Blackwell passed away Sunday May 29, 2022 at Broad Acres in Wellsboro. She was born January 4, 1941 in Elmira, NY to John and Alice (Komarek) Kocourek. On October 3, 1959 she married Donald H. Blackwell I, and together they raised 3 sons, and shared 60 years of marriage. Martha was active in the Morris Methodist Church, a member of the Wellsboro Art Club, and Tyoga and River Valley Country Clubs. She was a talented painter and crafter, an avid golfer, and enjoyed gardening and planting flowers and fishing, especially in Canada. She loved to walk and walked the bike trail along Pine Creek daily. Martha is survived by three sons: Jay Blackwell (Kelly) of Mechanicsburg, Donald Blackwell II of Morris, and Mark Blackwell of Liberty; two grandchildren: Brendan Blackwell of Morris, and Haley Blackwell of Mechanicsburg; a great-grandchild: Kiyana Blackwell of Mechanicsburg; a brother: John Kocourek of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to her life from 11:00am-12:00pm Friday June 3, 2022 at the Tussey-Mosher Funereal Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA with a memorial service to follow at 12:00pm in the funeral home.
