Margaret E. (Sweet) Rice
October 18, 1918 — January 29, 2017
Margaret E. Rice, 98, of Wellsboro, passed away on January 29, 2017 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Ralph E. Rice, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1983. Margaret was born October 18, 1918 in Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Leon and Mildred (Smith) Sweet.
Margaret was a cook at the Moose Lodge. She belonged to the Ladies of the Moose and the VFW Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and making crafts. She especially loved the time spent with her many grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons, Gerald Andrews (Oveta), of Mansfield and Gary Andrews (Sandy) of Wellsboro; daughters, Linda Covert (Lewis) of Wellsboro and Debra Neal (Daniel) of Fuquay Varina, NC; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Andrews.
A time of visitation will be held before the service from 2-3 PM, on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Kristi Webster officiating.
