Margaret E. (Hackett) Zinck

April 17, 1934 — May 11, 2024

Margaret E. (Hackett) Zinck, 90, of Wellsboro, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at UPMC Soldiers and Sailors in Wellsboro. She was born April 17, 1934, in Shippen Township, to Seymour and Erma (House) Hackett. She went to school in Wellsboro, and on February 17, 1951, Margaret married Oliver Zinck with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She worked as a dietician at Soldiers and Sailors for more than thirty year. Margaret wasn't exclusive in her church attendance, and worshipped in several local congregations, but lately had attended Victory Church in Troy when family were able to give her a ride. She was a member of the Wellsboro Moose and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, she enjoyed meeting with her friends and driving fast, was an accomplished yodeler and dancer, was a great cook, and she loved to read the Wellsboro Gazette, had to be the first one to read the paper. While she had a gracious heart and worked to be there for anyone who needed her, she was an especially devoted mother who genuinely loved her children and loved them all the same. Margaret is survived by a son: Paul (Joyce) Zinck of Elmira; four daughters: Linda (Todd) Meacham of Wellsboro, Sharon (Raymond) Gheen of Wellsboro, Belva Felker of Corning, and Sheila Arnold of Wellsboro; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother: Clifford Hackett; and four sisters: Arlene Freeland, Iva Putman, Rita Chilson, and Carolyn Wade. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Philip Zinck; two brothers: Harold and John Hackett; a sister: Leona Hackett; a grandson: Jeremy Spencer; and a granddaughter: Tammy Lynn Felker. Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Margaret's life from 11am-1pm at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA Wednesday May 15, 2024, with a funeral to follow at 1pm in the funeral home.
