Lynda H. (Withrow) Hazelton

Lynda H. Hazelton, 76, of Wellsboro passed away at her residence after an extended illness, Thursday, December 29, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of Elwood L. Hazelton, whom she married on August 2, 1958.  Lynda was born October 19, 1940 in Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Robert D. and Waneta A. (Dartt) Withrow.

Lynda was a graduate of Wellsboro High School with the Class of 1958.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  Lynda worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Robert Bair and Dr. Edward Hess.   She was a member of the Canyon Squares and Endless Mt. Ballroom Dance Clubs in Wellsboro. Lynda loved gardening, square dancing, ballroom dancing, and traveling.  She loved her children and grandchildren; and her two cherished cats, Chloe and Maddie.

Lynda is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Elwood; daughters and sons-in-law , Teresa (Steve) Towne, Dover, DE and Sally (David) James, Norfolk, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Jill) Hazelton, Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Erik (Victoria)Towne, Matthew Towne, Alyssa James, Austin James, Donovan Hazelton, Karlyn Hazelton and Bryton Hazelton; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Ronald) Chilson, Lakeland, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to Lynda’s Life Celebration on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral service will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Canon Gregory P. Hinton officiating.  Burial in Wellsboro Cemetery.
