Lucy B. Duncan, 90, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.  She was born February 22, 1927, in Darlington Twp. PA, the daughter of the late Donald and Lena (Braun) Steen.

Lucy grew up on a farm in Beaver County, PA. She was working in NYC, when she was reintroduced to Robert J. Duncan.  They were married back on the family farm.  His work for Bethlehem Steel took them to Bethlehem, PA where she raised her family and was active in her church.  When the opportunity to retire presented itself, they happily returned to her agricultural roots and pursued a very vigorous form of retirement, dairy farming outside of Wellsboro.  Lucy was a devoted mother and wife.

She was a member of the Whitneyville United Methodist Church, where she served as a lay speaker, sang in the choir, and was active in Bible studies.  She enjoyed the natural wonders and beauty of living on the farm and after 37 years, finally felt like a “Ridge Runner”.

Surviving are her five sons, Robert James Duncan, Seattle, WA, Kirk Duncan (Laura), Maplewood, NJ, William Duncan, Mansfield, PA, Paul Duncan (Xixi), Fairfax, VA, Bruce Duncan (Suzanne) Fairfax, VA; daughter, Linda Duncan, Lebanon, PA; five grandchildren, Julia Duncan, Abigail & Emma Duncan, Ethan & Meghan Duncan.  In addition to her parents and husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her sister, Naomi Gorrell.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 from 12-2 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Sandi Hemker officiating. Burial will in the Whitneyville Cemetery.

If desired, donations may be made to the Whitneyville United Methodist Church, 2427 Charleston Rd., Mansfield, PA 16933
