Laurie A. (Merrick) Wojnarek

Laurie A. Wojnarek, 61, of Elmira, NY, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was born January 20, 1961 in Wellsboro, PA to Richard I. and Betty (Townsend) Merrick. Laurie graduated from Wellsboro High School in the class of 1978, and earned an Associate's Degree from Corning Community College. On June 23, 1979, she married Shawn Wojnarek with whom she shared 43 years of marriage and raised three children. Laurie loved going to the beach and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand babies. Laurie is survived by her husband; two sons: Jeremy Wojnarek of Lawrenceville, PA and Jacob Wojnarek of Corning, NY; a daughter: Amber (Chris) Longabaugh of Carlisle, PA; three grandchildren: Trey, Cassie, and Killian; a brother: James Merrick; 7 sisters: Sandra Cleveland, Barbara Beitler, Bonnie Bowen, Diane Driehorst, Wendy Borden, Kathy Linder, and Deborah Goodreau; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Nancy Anderson and Shirley Cummings, and a brother: Richard Merrick, Jr. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Laurie's life at a time of remembrance with her family from 12:00pm-3:00pm Sunday August 28, 2022 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA.
