Joann (Train) Capwell

Joann Train Capwell, 86, of Wellsboro, PA,  passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro with her loving family by her side.  She was born August 18, 1930 in Messina, NY, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Dorothy (West) Train.

Joann was a member of the Wellsboro UMC for over 65 years; she served on several committees throughout the years.  Joann was also a member of the Tyoga Country Club.  She was an avid golfer, loved playing cards and folk art painting.  Most of all she loved her family.

Joann was retired from the Blast Intermediate Unit #17, Pennsylvania State Education Department. She also was employed for several years at the Tioga Savings & Trust Company Bank.

Joann is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Capwell of Wellsboro, PA; daughters, Susan (Bob) Erway of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; Kathy (David) Kennedy of Wellsboro, PA; grandchildren, Todd (Marjjo)Erway  of Saratoga Springs, NY; Brandt (Stacia) Erway of Dallas, TX;  Matthew (Kristie) Kennedy of Harrisburg, PA; Adrienne (Michael) Gilbert of Mechanicsburg, PA; Jillian (Michael) Aping of Harrisburg, PA; six great-grandchildren;   brother, Lawrence (Joyce) Train of Winter Park, FL.  In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Train Platt.

There will be no calling hours.  A Celebration of Joann’s Life will be held at the Wellsboro UMC Church, Main & Queen Sts., Wellsboro, on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rich Hanlon officiating.  A luncheon will follow and all are invited to attend.  Interment will be in the Wellsboro Cemetery.
