Gertrude F. Ellison

February 7, 1931 — September 20, 2018

Gertrude F.  Ellison, 87, of Antrim, went to be with the lord Thursday, September 20, 2018 at UPMC – Susquehanna, Williamsport, surrounded by her loving family.

Gertie was born on February 7, 1931 in Niles Valley, the daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Hakes) Smith.  She married Raymond T. Ellison, Sr. on October 31, 1949.  He passed away on January 25, 1992.

Gertie was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wellsboro and a collector of teddy bears.

Survived by her companion of 24 years, James Walbridge; four sons and three daughter-in-laws, John R. and Nancy Ellison of Shinglehouse; William D. and Sue Ellison of Mechanicsburg; Raymond T. and Bonnie Ellison, Jr. of Wellsboro; and Donald E. Ellison of Wellsboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary J. and Harrison Wood of Wellsboro; several grandchildren, great-grandchilden and great great grandchilden.

Family and friends may call at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 10-11:00 am.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Canon Gregory P. Hinton, officiating.  Burial will be in Shumway Hill Cemetery.
