Gerald T. Jones, 56, of Elmira, NY, died on July 16, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He was born June 14, 1960, in Wellsboro, PA, the son of the late James T. and Marietta (Randall) Jones, Sr.
Gerald was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. During his lifetime he was employed as a maintenance assistant. He worked for New York DOT as well as Elmira Psychiatric Center.
Gerald enjoyed working on cars, especially his Cadillac Seville; He loved camping and fishing and spending time with his family. In addition he was an avid carpenter.
Surviving are his daughters, Marietta Jones and Jalisa Jones, both of Elmira, NY; five brothers, James (Kelly) Jones, Harrisburg, PA, Linford (Andrea) Jones, Pittsburg, PA, Michael (Joan) Jones, Ontario, CA , Gerard (Penny) Jones, Elmira, NY and Lyle Jones of Wellsboro, PA. Several aunts; an uncle and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on July 23, 2016, 9:30 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 47 Central Ave., Wellsboro, with Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
