George Pryslak, 97, formerly of Morris, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, PA. He was the husband of Helen L. Pryslak who preceded him in death November 3, 2003. George was born September 2, 1919, in Plymouth, PA; the son of the late John and Mary (Toma) Pryslak.
George was a very active member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morris, PA. He also was a member of Civilian Conservation Corp., a life member of VFW Post#6755, Liberty, PA and a member of the American Legion, Coudersport, PA; and a charter member of Morris Fire Company.
George was an army veteran he served during World War II, Headquarters CCA, 6th Armored Division.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Fred Bower of Casa Grande, AZ and Kathleen and Lynn Broughton of Liberty, PA; son, George B. Pryslak, Tioga, PA; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Helen Pryslak of Coudersport, PA; grandchildren, Corey (Erika) Bower, Regina ( Jacob)Light, Marie, Lorraine Pryslak (Eric), Audrea (Clint) Youngfleish, Kaitlin Pryslak; great-grandchildren, Olivia Light, Archer Light and Jax Youngfleish ; brother, Harry Pryslak of Elmira NY. In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and John Pryslak.
Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 9-10 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 38 Central Ave., Wellsboro. A Mass will be held following calling hours with Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Burial in Antrim Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in George’s name to CCC Legacy, Leonard Harrison State Park, or Morris Fire Company, PO Box 95, Morris, PA 16938.
