Georgann A. (Alexander) Glebes

November 25, 1949 — April 8, 2024

Georgann Glebes, 74, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. She was born in Bethesda, MD, the daughter of Russell and Marian (Detzel) Alexander. She earned a BA in Mathematics from Dunbarton College in Washington, DC. On August 12, 1972, she married Leonard J. Glebes with whom she shared 51 years of marriage and raised three children. Georgann devoted her life to her family, she enjoyed knitting and needlework, loved watching the birds at her home, and when her health allowed, had been very active in her church. She is survived by her husband; two sons: Robin (Tirzah) Glebes of Alexandria, VA, and Ian (Liz Krell) Glebes of Reston, VA; a daughter: Marian (Fred Scharmen) Glebes of Baltimore, MD; a brother: William Alexander of Calverton, MD; and a sister: Margaret "Peggy" Sellman of Conway, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Georgann's life at 1pm Thursday, April 18, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
