Frieda Wolf Brown, 94, resident of Wellsboro, PA, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the John and Ortha Blair Hospice Residence in Warren, PA.  Frieda was born on July 20, 1921 in Lind, Washington to the late Edward and Olga (Leimert) Wolf.  Frieda was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert Alvin Wolf and Harold Arthur Wolf; two sisters, Clara Helena Wolf and Hertha Edna Wolf.  In 1925, Frieda moved with her family to Puyallup, Washington.  She graduated from Puyallup High School in 1939, and then attended Knapp Business College in Tacoma, Washington.  After graduating in 1940, she worked at the National Bank of Washington in Tacoma and later at Puget Sound Power and Light Company in Puyallup.

In her youth, Frieda often went ice skating.  In 1946, Frieda met Rex Brown at a skating rink.  They married on May 16, 1946, and “have been skating ever since,” as Rex used to say. Frieda and Rex (deceased on November 1, 2011) celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2011.  She is survived by two daughters: Patricia Dees of Granger, Indiana and Sally Hunter of Warren PA; seven grandchildren: Katie Hunter, Jill Hunter, Christian Hunter, Joan Hunter, Cale Hunter, Jennifer Dees, Robert Dees; five great-grandchildren: Jahzara Hunter, Ryan Dees, Reagan Dees, Ava Dees-Kuttner and Liam Dees-Kuttner. Frieda’s children and their families were a great joy in her life.

Frieda worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Public Welfare for 20 years.  She was an active member at First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro for more than 64 years.  She also belonged to Eastern Star, a book club, and a retiree luncheon group.

Frieda’s joys were many.  She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers.  She could grow just about everything, and she did.  Her family meant the world to her.  Frieda treasured her friends, and they treasured her.  Her life was blessed.
