Fannie Ruth Thomas Cobb, 98, a longtime resident of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at Grand Brook Memory Care in Fishers, Indiana. Born on January 17, 1927, in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of Pearl and John Thomas. She was united in marriage to Calvin Cobb on March 7, 1953. They shared a loving and devoted partnership until his passing in 2019. Known affectionately as Ruth, she was a lifelong member of Coolidge Hollow Church, where her strong faith and spirit of service shaped much of her life. Ruth was also a dedicated educator with the Wellsboro Area School District, remembered for the care and encouragement she gave to generations of students. Her sense of purpose extended into the community through her involvement with several organizations. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an esteemed member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Susan Cobb Gallagher (Paul Gallagher) and Dawn Cobb Bergen (Joseph Thomas Andrew Bergen). She was a devoted grandmother to Andrew Gallagher, Jamie Sue Bergen Parker (Nicholas Parker), Eric Bergen, Marion Bergen, and Bryan Bergen. Her legacy continues in her great-grandchildren: Hunter Bergen, Devon Bergen, ShayLynn VanNess, Bentley Gallagher, Oliver Gallagher, and Indigo Gallagher. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Cobb; her brothers Elbert, Llewelyn, Austin, Raymond, and Mason; and her sister, Margaret. Ruth's life was one of grace, devotion, and kindness. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the deep love she shared with family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St, Wellsboro, PA 16901, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM and a memorial service immediately following in the funeral home at 12:00 PM.
