Eunice M. Evans

Eunice M. Evans, 87, of Wellsboro passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Green Home, Wellsboro. She was born on January 19, 1938, in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Henry and Estelle (Thompson) Tubbs. She married James S. Evans on August 30, 1960, and they have celebrated 64+ years of marriage.

Eunice studied Cognitive Neuroscience for two years at Temple University and was a certified court stenographer. She owned a cleaning business and worked as a nanny.  She was a voracious reader and was in the process of writing a book.  She also loved walking, hiking, being in nature and studying the mind.  She was also very spiritual.

In addition to her husband, James, Eunice is survived by children: James M. (Clara) Evans of Belgium; Keith W. (Bonnie) Evans of Wellsboro; Nancy V. (James) Penn of Wellsboro; and Sean P. (Laurie) Evans of Philadelphia; a sister, Jeanette Pruitt of Alabama; 13 grandchildren: Stephanie, James, Clarissa, Yefer, Jose Ramon, Maria, Joshua, Ashley, Jenny, Tyler, Cameron, Alex, and Alistair, and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by siblings: Esther, Paul, Jewel, Henry (Buddy), and David.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Eunice’s life, Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12-2pm at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eunice’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
