Ellery W. Luther

Ellery W. Luther, 93, of Wellsboro, died on Sunday, October 16, 2016. He was the husband of Olive (Mast) Luther, who survives. Ellery was born September 12, 1923, in Wellsboro Junction, the son of the late Ellery and Mary (Grover) Luther.
He was a member of Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church. Ellery was employed for 43 years at Corning Glass, where he received an award for saving the company money; retiring in 1981.
Ellery enjoyed the outdoors, he loved to fish and hunt. He especially liked baseball, the Pirates being his favorite team.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, James Luther (Bonnie), Cresaptown, MD and Gene Luther (Yassy), Wellsboro; three grandsons , one granddaughter and two great-grandsons. Ellery was the last of 5 children.
Family and friends are invited to Ellery’s Life Celebration on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 21, 2016, 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment in Niles Valley Cemetery.
