Edward Robert Nonnenmacher

Edward R. Nonnenmacher, 74 of Wellsboro, passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017 at the Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 23, 1942, the son of Frank and Loretta (Como) Nonnenmacher.  On December 18, 1965 Ed married Loretta A. Gargano.  After graduating from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with a Doctorate in Medical Dentistry in 1967, he served as a Captain and dentist in the US Army during the Viet Nam War.

Dr. Nonnenmacher was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro, and a member of the Guardians of the Redeemer in that congregation.  He especially enjoyed restoring old houses, and put his restoration skills to work in St. Peter’s old rectory in Wellsboro, and Holy Name of Mary Church in Montrose, PA.  Ed loved hunting and was a proud member of the NRA.

Edward loved his family and will be deeply missed by those who survive; his wife Loretta, his son Brian Nonnenmacher of Freehold, NJ, his daughter Erica Winget (Steven) of Spring City, PA, his seven grandchildren:  Dominic, Henry and Lauren Nonnenmacher of Freehold, NJ, Jarad Winget (Nina) of Chicago, Tyler, Spencer and Gunner Winget of Spring City, PA, and his five brothers:  Nicholas, Alan, Frank, Christopher, and Mark Nonnenmacher.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 38 Central Avenue Wellsboro, PA 10:00am Wednesday February 15, 2017 Fr. David Bechtel officiating, with burial in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.  The family has entrusted Ed’s funeral arrangements with the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA 16901.
