E. Blanche Owlett, 102, of Wellsboro entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior in the early morning of Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Green Home in Wellsboro.
Blanche was born on November 12, 1923, in Draper, the daughter of the late Millard and Alice (Townsend) Ogden. She married the love of her life, Lloyd B. Owlett, November 24, 1946. Together they shared 53 years of marriage and built a life anchored in faith, family, and hard work until his passing on November 11, 1999.
A graduate of Wellsboro High School, Class of 1941, Blanche lived a life marked by dedication and service. She worked alongside her husband at Knoxville Granite Works and was also employed at the former Owlett’s Supermarket in Keeneyville. Blanche was a faithful member of the Keeneyville United Methodist Church, where her life reflected her love for the Lord. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Gideons and faithfully served her community on the Board of Elections for Middlebury Township.
Blanche found joy in the simple blessings of life—traveling, bowling, watching baseball and golf. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends playing games, sharing meals and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her sons, Clayton (Deborah) Owlett of Wellsboro and Jack (Melissa) Owlett of Middlebury Center; seven grandchildren: Justin, Jason, Jon, Matt, Cassie, Connor, and Emily; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who were blessed by her life.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Doan.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the Keeneyville United Methodist Church, 1063 Route 249, Middlebury Center, PA. A memorial service celebrating Blanche’s life and faith will follow at 4:00 PM. A private burial for the family will be held at Middlebury Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Blanche’s name to New Creation Events Ministry, P.O. Box 36, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
The family have entrusted Blanche’s arrangements to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.
Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and we take comfort in knowing Blanche is now at peace in His eternal presence.
