Diane I. (Scranton) Bookmiller

October 23, 1942 — October 5, 2016

Diane I. Bookmiller, 73, of Wellsboro, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the Williamsport Regional Hospital.  She was the widow of Atwell M. Bookmiller Jr., who preceded her in death June 28, 2012. Diane was born October 23, 1942 in Wellsboro; she was the daughter of Allen C. and Evelyn Faye (Campbell) Scranton.

Diane was employed as a Trust Officer at Greenwich Connecticut Bank, before she retired.  She enjoyed decorating, flowers and bird watching.  Diane especially loved her dogs, Peaches and Dolly.

Diane and her husband, Atwell, were Legacy Donors at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital and Mansfield University.

Diane is survived by her father, Allen C. Scranton; her sisters, Linda Gamble (Tom) and Carol Scranton, all of Wellsboro; her step-children, Atwell M. Bookmiller III (Kathryn) of Landisville, Alan M. Bookmiller (Nawal), of Temple, GA; Mary A. Bookmiller (Ed Lugo), of Tallahassee,FL  and Marla A. Dochstader (Kurbin) of Lakeland, FL;  Many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; two nieces, Dr. Stephanie Gamble-Colosimo (Kevin), of  Buffalo, NY and Emily J. (Scranton) Kreider (Joshua), of Wellsboro; nephew, Michael Gamble,  of Kennebunkport, ME.  She was preceded in death by her mother.

A private graveside service will be held at the Wellsboro Cemetery, with Rev. John Anderson officiating.

Memorials may be made in Diane’s name to Williamsport Regional Hospital ICU.
