Dennis Mark Simonis

Dennis Mark Simonis, 67, of Clarks Summit, formerly of Wellsboro, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Clark Summit State Hospital. He was born March 18, 1949 in Stevens Point, Wis., the son of the late Dennis S. and Florence (Burant) Simonis.
While in Wellsboro, Dennis attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Dennis was a part of the wait staff at Blue Grass Yacht and Country Club in Hendersonville, TN. He was an Elvis aficionado, as well as a gifted musician; he enjoyed singing and playing the trumpet.
Dennis was a US Army veteran, having served in Germany and the United States.
Dennis is survived by three brothers, Karl Simonis (Anne Foley), Lancaster, Ken Simonis (Diann), Gatlinburg, TN and Mark Simonis (Christina), Wellsboro; four nephews and two nieces. In addition to his parents Dennis was preceded in death by his niece, Mary Simonis Rush.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Monday, July 11, 2016 at 9:30 AM, with Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Interment in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
